I am the Behavioral Specialist at a local elementary magnet school. Years ago, I was inspired by a therapy dog team that had worked in the school system. The handler and her canine partner helped little bodies with big feelings and provided the love, reassurance, and comfort needed.
It has been my ambition to find a canine partner that would be a good fit for the job. It took me just over a year. However, Frankie entered my life by complete coincidence. Even with a rough start in the world, this little pug has defied all odds and developed the sweetest and most compassionate personality. Frankie has been coming to school with me and has completely changed the behavioral dynamic within my student groups.
Children who may not have otherwise had a positive connection with an animal can learn compassion, security in themselves, and comfort through the loving connection shared with a canine friend. This will help the children develop social skills, emotional well-being, and academic performance.
Frankie was born on 01/01/2024 and is a smart and ambitious learner. He loves everyone that he comes into contact with. He will joyfully provide comfort through cuddles and never turns down a belly rub. He is the most accepting little fella and provides a nonjudgmental environment for the children to feel safe and secure in.
For Frankie to become a professional therapy dog, Frankie and I must complete a specialized training program through the Dog Training Elite program in Asheville NC. Upon completion he will be an AKC certified therapy dog. Not only will he be able to provide therapy services within our school, he will also be able to provide therapy within the community. The specialized training program through Dog Training Elite provides a list of the local companies that are accepting a therapy dogs and handlers to come and donate their time.
Therapy dog training is not only timely but very expensive. Frankie and I will provide a meaningful impact to the students in our elementary school and the community. Please support Frankie and I in our endeavor to become a professional AKC therapy dog and handler team.
Frankie and I start the process of becoming a professional AKC therapy dog team on 10/01/2024. Frankie is just a mellow guy that wants everyone in the room to be as happy as he is.
