Preston's AAI Surgery
Donation protected
Preston has been diagnosed with Atlantoaxial Instability or AAI per MRI after some complaints of neck pain. AAI affects 15-20% of children with Downs Syndrome. Treatment at this time is a cervical fusion of C1-C2. Preston and his parents will be traveling to Philadelphia for surgery.
Funds raised will help the family with travel expenses to from Michigan to Philadelphia. Prestons parents have exhausted their paid time off at work this year as this is not the only medical crisis he has faced. Preston was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes this year and has faced every challenge with more perseverance than most adults..
Donations will go directly to Prestons parents to help cover the costs of medical and travel expenses.
The family believes in the power of prayer and if everyone reading could take a moment to add Preston and his family into your thoughts and prayers today for a successful surgery and gentle recovery it would be greatly appreciated.
