Dear Family and Friends,
I'm reaching out to humbly ask for your donation for a Ukrainian family of seven who finally arrived in the U.S. a few days ago. My aim is to raise $10,000 for this family!
One of my closest friends, Alina Vasylyeva, is assisting her good friend Viktoria who she met in college at the University in Kirovograd, Ukraine.
Viktoria is married to Yevhen and they have a 17-year-old son Stanislav (almost forced to stay in Ukraine to join the army) and a 3-year-old son Nazar. Viktoria also has a brother Ihor and both her elderly parents, Viktor & Nadia. Her father is disabled and has diabetes and it's nothing short of a miracle that he is still alive.
This family has traveled for many miles and days on foot across Ukraine and Poland in distress. There are too many traumatic events for me to share here, but as you might imagine, it's been a real nightmare. Alina has been on the phone every day since the war began helping this family survive and get from one place to the next.
Alina has maxed out her credit card at $28,000 helping this family with travel, lodging, food, travel papers (had to use several lawyers), and plane tickets to Mexico. After their very long arduous journey, they finally arrived in Pasadena last week with literally the clothes on their backs. Alina is housing all 7 of them at her home. I had the great honor of meeting them just a few days ago.
Alina really needs your financial help! The next leg of their journey is just getting started here in America. They need housing, clothes, food, beds and other furniture, food, and guidance and support to help them find jobs. And remember, she has already spent $28,000 dollars!
Stanislav, the 17-year-old, was planning to go to college to focus on political science and Alina has high hopes for helping this very bright teen attend Pasadena City College until he can transfer to a four-year college.
I would like to raise a minimum of 10,000 to help support this Ukrainian family. I know Alina very well and can verify that 100% of your donation will go directly toward helping this family out of this terrible crisis.
Your generous donation is deeply appreciated!!!
Thankful for what we have,
Clarissa Brooks
