Please Help Travis, Jessica and Family
Donation protected
Travis is an arborist and, along with his partner Jessica, and their beautiful children, they started Mortal Farms and Tree Care a few years ago. Travis is very experienced in this industry and has continued to perform tree services for clients. Last Wednesday, a life-changing accident happened when part of a tree came down, hit him in the head and shoulder, and caused a severely fractured foot that separated from the leg at the ankle.
On Friday, Travis was scheduled to have surgery (this is the 3rd time scheduled now). Sadly they had to cancel due to a cast being put on his right leg way too tight which caused a massive infection & blisters all over his leg and foot. They also found more breaks/fractures in his foot. They will not schedule the surgery until his foot infection subsides.
UPDATE:
9.21
Travis went to the orthopedic surgeon today to check and see how the large hematoma and fracture blisters are healing. The team cut his soft cast off and found more blisters as well as a nasty looking hematoma (which they cut the top/dead skin off) loaded it with betadine and wrapped it back up. So as of now,, they have no idea how far surgery will be pushed out. He goes back Wednesday to see how the infection is healing and hopefully get the surgery scheduled.
Getting the first surgery scheduled is just the first step in the long healing journey that is predicted ahead. The estimated recovery after the first one is four months. Then he will need another surgery 6 months after the first one is healed.
As many of you know, Travis and Jessica have a wonderful family that consists of 7 beautiful children. Their youngest, Huck, is only 3 months old.
They could really use additional community support at this time and I decided to start a Go Fund me as well to help raise funds to cover the many unexpected costs associated with this terrible accident.
Please take the time to consider gifting to this campaign because it would really boost the spirits of Travis and his family, assist them financially at this critical time, and show your care and support.
