Please help get me 2 Rio w/Team USA

My name is Alexa Lewandowski. I just qualified for the USA Karate Junior National Team in Reno, NV in the 12-13 –42kg Female Elite Kumite division the new lightweight division. I am really excited to represent the United States again in the Pan-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Last year I made the team in the old lightweight class, -35kg. I came up short in Argentina, placing fifth, and just missed medaling by one second! I had three great fights and I learned how badly I wanted that medal and trained hard all year. I worked in our basement in the morning and at my dojo, LMKA, at night. I had friends over that trained with me this summer and we pushed each other to be better and give more. Sarah, Trinity, Lexie, and Cameron all helped motivate me and hopefully I did the same for them. All year I’ve dreamt of winning gold at Pan-Ams and I’ve completed the first step of making the team. Now I will train even harder to make my dream come true and bring a medal back to the United States, Fluvanna, and my dojo Lake Monticello Karate Academy. 

It is very costly to compete at this level. Athletes have to cover the airfare, visas, hotel and food for the week for themselves and their required chaperone plus we have team fees as well. Please consider supporting me in my efforts to represent Team USA next month. I’ll do my best to make you proud. Thank you!
