Peggy’s Story:

I’m Peggy, a 12 week-old French bulldog puppy born on Nov.1st 2019 via c-section. The vet-team assisting with the procedure noticed I was born with what is commonly called a cleft-palate. Basically this is a hole in my palate which prevents me from eating/drinking normally. To do so could result in asphyxiation because the nutrients end up in my lungs. 
These cases can be complicated so they usually end up in euthanization. Lucky for me, my destiny ended up in the hands of an amazing human who runs a private organization saving hundreds of cats/dogs/wildlife on a yearly basis. Since day1 she’s been feeding me every couple of hours by inserting a tube directly into my tummy (via my esophagus) so that the nutrients safely bypass the danger zones. Needless to say this has been an all consuming endeavor for her both emotionally and financially. With weekly visits to the vet for regular testing, everyone agrees that I’m a perfect candidate for a procedure (operation) to finally repair my palate issue.
The surgery is planned for February 25th. This way I have the chance to gain a bit more weight.
I’ll be under the care of one of the country’s leading veterinary surgeons along with his team (who are specialized in cases such as mine).
