Peanut Butter & Love: Boxes of Love Fundraiser
Donation protected
After becoming a mother myself, I have felt my empathy for others become deeper. And since moving to Houston, I’ve been coming across so much news about crime and violence especially amongst children.
One thing I know for sure is that most of this crime is derived from a simple lack of love. It is so important for children to grow up with sufficient love so that they may develop the empathy necessary to become the best version of themselves.
Like most things, love and empathy are best learned during childhood. That’s why I am starting a 501-c3 non-profit organization called Peanut Butter & Love (PB&L) to spread the love. This organization will be focusing on educating children about compassion and teaching them to be in service of others at a young age.
As an initial project, we will be providing students with shoeboxes to decorate and have them include an inspirational note. We then will collect the boxes, fill it with necessities and have them delivered to charities which will then distribute the boxes to people in need (the homeless, orphans, single-moms, etc.)
For our first project, we will be collaborating with Wisdom High School students serving to homeless children (0-15 y/o) at The Mission of Yaweh.
