My name is Kim Buchanan & I would like to take some time to talk to you about my mama. My mama, Barbara Buchanan. To know her is to love her. She is the strongest person I know. Approximately 10yrs ago she was diagnosed with renal cancer. They removed one of her kidneys & things were fine for just about 5yrs. Well about 5yrs ago the cancer returned. There have been ups & downs through the past 5yrs & mama has such strength & fight deep in her soul (it's just who she is!) she never gave up. Not one day went by, after finding out something new about her cancer, where she wasn't having the attitude & saying it's just the next step & I'm OK with that.
Well this past Friday (July 1st) mama had a massive stroke caused by a mass on her brain which caused a bleed. Come Sunday we got answers telling us there was nothing more to do, the fight was ending & the cancer had started to spread into other parts of her already fragile body. Did this stop my mama? NO! She had one fight left. That fight was to make it home! It took teamwork from the family & the hospital staff to get this to happen & mama stayed strong. Today (Thursday July 7th) she is home, where she wanted to be & where she belongs. My mama is the strongest person I know!
We are asking (I hate to do so) for help from friends & family! Mama's other fight she was battling was paying off the house so it may stay in the family. The cancer may cause her to lose that fight unless we are able to find the money to continue this fight & win it for her. If mama touched your life please help us win this last fight for her. Help us save her home she loves oh so much & keep it in the family. Keeping this home is the last wish/fight she has. Even if it's only a few dollars, every bit helps us get closer. If you are not able to help with the money part, please just share this post so it has a chance to get to all the people mama has touched throughout the years of her wonderful & happy life to give them the chance to help.
