Pat Kelly's Home Health Aide Fund
Donation protected
As those of you who know Pat, she had suffered a brain aneursym on November 8th, 2016. She underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding in her brain. The surgery was successful, although left her with some memory loss and loss of some of her cognitive skills. Pat spent 16 days in the Neuro ICU, where she had begun her therapy sessions to regain her memory and cognitive skills. Pat also spent several weeks in a rehabilitation facility, and has currently been transferred to another rehabilitation facility. Pat receives Speech, OT, and PT therapies daily. She is due to be released in the coming weeks. When Pat arrives home, she will need 24/7 care, as well as all her therapies as an outpatient. Her family is in the process of finding a Home Health Aide to come daily, and who is able to transport her to and from her therapies. Pat will need an aide for a minimum of three months at which the costs run between $200-$250 per day. Her insurance will not cover the costs for this service.
Pat's husband Mike has been by her side daily. Helping her with her therapies, as well as her daily routines . Pat has two wonderful children andis a grandmother of four. Her children live out of state and have been traveling back and forth to be by her side.
Pat worked at The Valley Program through Northern Valley Regional High School. This program attends to children with autism as well as other disabilities. Pat loved working with the children and enjoyed going to work everyday. Pat's insight was always to help others, regardless. She always made people smile and laugh and always, always helped where she could.
Since she became ill, her medical insurance will soon come to an end as well as her income has stopped. Pat is unable to collect disability, as her job does not offer payment into it.
Pat's family will greatly appreciate any donation to help defray these substantial costs.
Thank you in advance. Wishing everyone a Happy & Healthy New Year!!!!
