On Februrary 3rd, a man rushed to a small hut. His feet felt as if they weighted a ton.. his heart felt heavier. As he neared, a woman stood, numbed by the news she knew he was bringing her. Lifting her head to the sky, she prayed for strength to do what she must do next. She turned, entered a room with two beautiful little girls, and call to the oldest of 3 years. Leaning in, she whishpers, "Youre daddy is in heaven now." The little girl looks up at the ceiling of the little hut, and waves, "Hi Daddy." The mother's heart aches as pain begins to take its hold. What will life be like from this moment on...
God calls each one of us for a great purpose. Many do not hear this call, but one man did. Gary Aluisy AKA Pastor Tree, heard a call to bring Gods message of Love and forgiving grace to the little islands of the Philippines, He undertook this adventure after serving here in America for 20 years looking after homeless people in his many shelter type communities he ran in both Baltimore and in South Florida. He once was the captain of both the "Mission Ship" and after that, the "Gospel Ship" on which he housed many people in need of help and a home. He become known in the 80's as "Pastor Tree". Those who were rejected by the world, he welcomed with an open heart and shared God's unconditional love with them.
While in the Philippines, He met his wife, Genevieve and they had two daughters, Genevieve (HoneyGen) and Julia (HoneyJules). Together, they built a small outreach to different communities on the small Island of Siquijor in the southern part of the Philippines. Two of those outreaches were their ministry to a handful of orphans and a big group of prisoners from the municipal jail.
Back in the states, Pastor Tree had six older children that God had blessed him with. As his health began to decline from heart desease, one of his sons traveled the long journey to the Philippines to bring him back for medical help.
One night, while staying with his son, he began to suffer from nausea which led to chest pain. Little did we know that night, that once he entered the hosptial, he would not be coming back home.
He passed away on February 3, 2016 from congestive heart failure. The last words Simon heard his dad say were, "To live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)
This man, gave God his all. He gave all who he found in need, everything he had. All he asked for before he left this world, was to make sure his wife and two little girls were taken care of.
Fortunately, the means for them to live off of will be provided through social security. Unfortunetly, this will take 3 to 4 months to begin. In the meanwhile, the mother who had to tell her little girls that daddy is no longer coming home, now has to fight to keep their home, and search for ways to feed her little family.
The funds are needed NOW. I am asking each one of you to reach from within and give Pastor Tree's family a fighting chance to rebuild the life that has been torn down and carry on with the ministry.
Our family has been trying to help in everyway we can, but we need YOUR HELP!! If there was ever a time when Tree helped you and touched your life in some way, and you wish you could tell him or thank him- the time is now and this is how.
Our family has lost an amazing man. There is a hole that can not be filled till we see him again some day. However, knowing that his family is fed and sheltered, and his ministry through each of us - to Love as Christ- continues.. is a comfort we can not show enough graditude enough for.
Thank you, thank you, thank you....
May God richly bless,
