Mr Pool Man WIRES Bushfire Donation Page

Tax deductible

Help us help the voiceless. While countless lives of our precious Australian Wildlife have been lost from our wildfire crisis, survivors still hold the chance of rehabilitation.

We're raising money for @wireswildliferescue  to help with the short-term and long-term critical care of effected wildlife. Did you know it costs around $7000 to rehab just one koala? Every contribution you can make (big or small) will make a difference.

A little bit of background on our current wildlife crisis:

Australia has never seen a concurrent series of emergencies events like those that began in November. Hundreds of fires over weeks have burnt over 4.9 million hectares of land in NSW alone and many animals were already struggling with a lack of water and food due to the drought.

With the fires destroying unprecedented amounts of habitat, food shortages have increased and lack of suitable habitat will be a significant long-term challenge for surviving wildlife.

It is impossible to know how many animals have perished and it will be many months before the impact on wild populations can be better understood. Ecologists at Sydney University have estimated over 800 million animals have been affected in Australia since September and this figure is rising daily.

Possums, gliders, birds, kangaroos and wallabies have all been impacted, as well as animals like our koalas, grey-headed flying-foxes and our amazing tiger quoll which were already considered vulnerable to extinction before these horrendous fires.

Summer is a frantically busy time for wildlife rescue and there are still over 100 fires burning in NSW. In December alone there were over 20,000 calls to WIRES 1300 line, a 14% increase on last year, and volunteers attended over 3,300 rescues.

Over 2500 WIRES Carers and Veterinarians will be doing their best to care for the injured and displaced wildlife in hope of returning them to their forest home in the future.

During what feels like a time of helplessness, how can you help?

To help rescue and rehabilitate injured wildlife please support this WIRES donation Fund.

These funds are allocated to everything from rescues, transportation, medical equipment, medicine, bandages, food, enclosures, on-going care and more.

100% of funds raised here will be donated directly to Wires Wildlife Rescue.

Thank you to everyone for your support through these trying times. Your gift will change lives.

Much love,

Natalie, Tomas, Hardy and the Mr Pool Man  team xx.
