On the 11th of September Elizabeth Kaminski set off on a Margaritaville at Sea 2 night; 3-day cruise for her 25th Birthday! The first celebration started her quarter-life! She was planning on having the time of her life. This cruise did not require a passport except for certain forms of U.S documentation/identification. This 3-day cruise was to disembark on Grand Bahama island on the 12th. Ellie had been traveling with another person. They were set to go with others from the cruise on a paid tour attraction on 09/12/2022 but out of nowhere the cruise could not find their tickets even tho, they had the confirmation of purchase. With that being said Ellie and her travel companion rented a moped to try and join the passengers who went on the tour. Ellie was on the back of the moped as her friend drove. The next thing that happened was horrifying that she would not know would change her life forever.
The day was beautiful till out of nowhere it began to rain. After making a sharp turn Ellie was then thrown off of the moped slid with her bare body across the wet road, hit two guard rails, and had extensive damage. As far as we know she has broken her hip, her pelvis has deep lacerations, and is also bleeding internally from her kidney among other things. After laying on the side of the road for more than 30 minutes as locals helped pack her wounds with napkins, she had been transported to Rand Memorial Hospital located in Freeport, Bahamas. Upon arrival, Ellie was strapped to a stretcher and put in the hallway for about 2 hours with no medical attention. She was then moved to an empty room where they finally gave her morphine to somewhat help with the pain that she was enduring. They had also stitched up both of her hips, her shin, her feet, and her ankles. After doing so, they left her in the room for hours on end. She had tried to get some help and possibly get a catheter or a way to use the restroom being but she still strapped to a stretcher. With no mobility as they also tapped her head down, she could not move at all. After multiple nurses walked in and out and ignored Ellie's concerns she was forced to urinate herself. She continued to sit with open wounds everywhere in a puddle of her urine and blood for over an hour. When they finally did come only then was she given a catheter and assigned a bed. After they finally gave her the slightest bit of information/attention they informed her that she would need surgery and that she would need to fly to the states to continue the procedure.

Ellie and her family do NOT have insurance so she is stressed with this as well. With that being said they had her fill out release for paperwork. The only problem now was the fact that she didn’t have a passport even though she had her Birth certificate and Drivers license with her. With the help of her Dad who lives in Wisconsin, he was able to get in contact with Broward Health to come up with a plan to get Ellie his only daughter back home to the states! The hospital said that her Brother and roommate could go get a form signed stating she lives at her current address and get it notarized and they could bring her home with a medevac. Ellie's father then took out a $20,000 loan just to bring her home! Finally some hope…. But that was not the case! The hospital then DENIED releasing any of her medical forms to the THREE hospitals that tried, nor her father nor even herself. Even though she had signed the forms previously they will not release them under any circumstances. The hospital ORIGINALLY SAID they would not let her leave the hospital without the current bills being paid! That’s exactly what her father did with the loan he had to take out! Just for them to deny the Medvec and try and ship her on the same cruise she arrived on ALONE with NO nurse or even simple help!!

She is stuck there by herself with nobody by her side, in a different country continuing to bleed out without any surgeries or anything. The friend she traveled with was not allowed in the hospital because of covid and has since returned home. They have abused her in many different ways. They called the police on her just because she needs simple help, and was begging and crying just for them to do something! Ellie needs help! She can not continue to sit there without anything being done and being neglected and treated as if she's nothing! She’s going to continue to need help when she returns. Since she doesn’t have insurance she worries about her surgery/Rehabilitation cost her lively hood EVERYTHING. Anything helps and let’s bring our favorite blonde home!
