The Dominica America Scholarship & Culture Inc (DASCI) is a 501(C)3 non profit organization started by Dominicans based in Florida. While IRS tax exemption was granted in 2013, the origin of the organization dates back to 2003. As all may have seen our beautiful island home Dominica, has been decimated by the direct hit of the Category 5 Hurricane Maria.
The destruction is Island-wide and unimaginable. Lives were lost, property and infrastructure damaged. The agricultural and tourist resources which represent the majority of our economic livelihood have been rendered useless and will take many years to recover. Most schools were damaged and will require extensive repairs. Roof loss resulted in irreparable damage to classroom equipment and supplies.
We are in dire need of all basic resources but want to focus on getting the kids back to school. We want to help raise funds to replenish school equipment and supplies.
The board of directors and membership hope you can help us reach our goal.
