UPDATE
We have been hit with a devastating setback. Tallulah beat acute lymphoblastic Leukemia and rang the bell on 7/09/2022 2 years & 7 months later, she was diagnosed with therapy related acute myeloid leukaemia which is another type of blood/bone marrow cancer that has been caused by the chemotherapy she had to treat the initial cancer. The only cure is extensive, aggressive chemo and a bone marrow transplant. This is a very rare cancer for a child, and there are not a lot of hospitals that know how to treat it.
Tallulah, her mum and dad will be impatients at Royal Manchester Children’s hospital for many months which will mean they are both out of work and having to fund meals, transport and all the other costs that living in hospital costs.
After seeing the consultants this morning yesterdays tests have shown that its not the same leukaemia as we originally thought. Its so much worse. Its treatment related acute myeloid leukaemia which is a mutation caused by the chemotherapy she had last time. Its a really rare, high risk condition that theyve only ever seen once before in 30 years. She needs 4 months of intensive chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant. We are obviously broken beyond belief, we dont know what the future holds for us as a family and we can’t believe we are in this position. We will be in hospital until around October and this will be the absolute fight of our girls life but we have to have hope. Please just keep our baby girl in your prayers, always
Hello, Tallulah is a beautiful and brave 7 year old girl.
unfortunately we have received the news that her leukaemia has returned after completing 2.5 years of traumatic chemotherapy treatment.
Recently she was told she was classed as cured and was returning to a normal life like a 7 year old should.
Relapse now means more needles, more trauma and more expensive journeys, car parking, fuel and food during those scary steroid months (treatment includes high dose of steroids which effects the persons appetite making them constantly hungry and crave all sorts of food 24 hrs of the day) which we all know comes at a big expense.
Talluahs family are self employed and having to worry about their house, children, and bills all whilst battling this cancer again so creating this fund will lighten the mental and financial burden they are feeling so they can focus on Tallulah and her health.
Please do share, comment and donate where possible.
