Optimist North American Championship 2019
Donation protected
We are very proud to announce that the following junior sailors from around The Bahamas have earned the right to represent The Bahamas at the upcoming Optimist North American Championships (OPTINAM 2019) by their performance in three qualifying events earlier this year:
Joshua Weech Zane Munro
Kaemen Floyd Matthew Reid
Craig Ferguson Patrick Tomlinson
Cameron Eldon. Saoirse Duffy
Finley Mc.Kinney Lambert Amy McSweeney
Jasmin Aberle Jack Guinness
David Huber Mary Jac Nash
Maison Koepke Scarlett McCarroll
This youth Championship is being hosted jointly by Nassau Yacht Club and Bahamas Sailing Association/Bahamas National Sailing School and will be the largest sailing event to have ever taken place in The Bahamas. There will be 167 sailors from 20 countries competing on our beautiful Montagu Bay, September 27 to October 4, 2019.
Our sailors have worked diligently to make it on the team and are training hard now to do the very best they can in this major international regatta. To assist them, special clinics and coaching have been provided at a cost which when added to the registration and boat charter fees for the event itself brings the total cost per team member to $2,700.
With this in mind the parents and the sailors have decided to raise funds by various means and would greatly appreciate your support by way of financial assistance and participation in their fundraising events.
Your contribution towards this is greatly appreciated.
