Omicelo Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to use real estate and real estate principles to advance the education of community members in gentrifying neighborhoods. Omicelo Cares believes that neighborhoods can create promise for all community members.
We seek to achieve our mission in three ways:
Inclusive Real Estate Development
Omicelo Cares is empowering local communities to take charge of gentrification, working directly with neighborhoods and community groups to teach community members the real estate development business and increase homeownership. Omicelo Cares, in partnership with Neighborhood Allies, operates the Real Estate Co-Powerment Series, a 6-week course meant to demystify the real estate development industry and shrink the technical proficiency between developers and communities.
Experiential Business Education Program
Omicelo Cares believes in complementing existing public high school education with programs that teach critical business normally acquired in the first 5 years of corporate work. The Experiential Business Education Program provides a unique opportunity for young adults learn the 7 Pillars of Sustainable Business, sharpen their innate talents, and build teamwork skills that are essential for success in the professional world.
DreamOn Festival Experiential Learning
Omicelo Cares partners with the DreamOn Festival to provide a one-of-a-kind summer internship experience to our Experiential Business Education Program. The annual music and ice cream festival provides an opportunity for young adults to use the 7 Pillars of Sustainable Business curriculum to execute a high-profile, city-wide event focused on the intersection of art, community and opportunity.
