Oakham Girls rugby start up
Donation protected
Our girls rugby section is new since Nov 2019. We want to make it a place where the girls come to have fun, get some exercise, make friends, learn some skills, grow in confidence and develop their teamwork opportunities. Our objective is to help young players develop their own life skills as well as learn to appreciate that not everything is a solo effort and to take people for who they are. All players are welcome to our club and it matters not the experience or skill level. The only thing we care about is that each and every child feels safe and enjoys themselves. To that end, we need to raise some much needed funds in order to get some playing shirts for the teams as well as some additional gear such as team bags, subs suits (to keep warm on the side lines) and a few more balls. The shirts will give these girls an identity to be proud of and will help towards their team spirit. We are catering for U11/U13/U15/U18 age groups. Some money is left over in an effort to assist players that may need some financial assistance to get some kit or team membership. Not everything we work towards comes from donations. We are aiming/planning to get all the players involved in fundraising events over the coming months and through summer in an effort to educate the players a little as to the value of "earning" their shirts. Our club have been extremely supportive but are unable to assist with everything at this time. Whether you can spare a few pennies or a few pounds, every penny raised, will go towards helping these young ladies have an experience that could change their lives and leave them with everlasting positive memories to cherish.
