Nsobe Trust School, Zambia

Hello everyone ! I’m heading over to Nsobe, Zambia on Thursday along with my Dad and another 13 adults from the Cuala GAA Club community. I am looking to raise funds to support the Nsobe Trust School. I will be involved in a variety of projects including medical, construction and education.

About Nsobe Community School:

Nsobe Trust School is a school with a difference We believe in offering not only education, but education with employment opportunity. In Rural Zambia there are not enough schools, there was no school accessible to the village children in our area. Ninety percent of our children’s parents are illiterate and live way below the poverty line. To offer hope and the chance of an educated future Nsobe Trust School was started in 2009. We now have a full Primary and Secondary School: Pre-school to Grade 12. Our 450 pupils are taught by 24 dedicated teachers and 4 supporting staff. We offer a child-centres quality education, preparing pupils not only for jobs, but for life. Our Vision Is to continue to grow to offer our students pathways out of poverty and provide access to tertiary learning or tools to develop their own income streams. We have recently opened our first Safe House for vulnerable girls and plan to turn the secondary school into a boarding facility. We are busy constructing a vocational skills training centre and will create a natural resources college where students can learn agricultural, wildlife management and tourism disciplines. The college will also teach theory in IT, HR, sound morals and life skills with practical hands on skills being done at Nsobe Lodge and Farm Graduates will then be placed in private sector projects across Zambia and will be able to create and manage their own rural projects, providing much needed natural resources development and wealth and job creation in a land that could feed Africa. We believe we are helping students realize their full potential and thereby facilitating Zambians to develop Zambia.
