Nostrand Avenue Bench

The Nostrand Avenue Improvement Association is raising money to build beautiful wooden benches along the avenue.  We are seeking funding for a prototype bench that can be used to raise money for more.  Our ultimate goal is to build 20 such benches on the avenue stretching from Fulton Street to Empire Boulevard.  Each one would be an individual work of art responsive to its immediate environment. This first bench will fill an empty space in front of Metfood on the avenue between St. John and Sterling.  The money raised will go for the design and building of the bench.  Having such useful works of art will make Nostrand Avenue a beautiful place to live and work.  This bench will be dedicated to Abigail a beautiful and charming woman from Grenada who is a cashier at Metfood.
