New Life for Disabled Artist

Donation protected
For those that do not know me:
I am an artist.
I am disabled*.
I am dedicated to my craft.

Despite being told from a young age that my life was going to be much harder, and my options more limited, than everyone around me, my passion for art drove me to fight against the limitations set upon me.

Every hurdle I have overcome has been from hard work snd sheer force of will. Through this I have been able to get incredibly close to my dream of being a full-time, successful, artist.

One of my last remaining hurdles: a big move.

Why do i need to move?
My disability, Ocular Albinism, makes it not possible for me to drive. So I need somewhere that has good public transportation options and is also navigable by foot/bike if need be.
To continue reaching my dreams I need somewhere with more people, businesses, etc. in order to spread my work and build connections.
This limits me to cities, and after tireless research I have found that the area of Minneapolis St Paul would be the best option. It offers everything stated above as well as being more affordable while still being in a metropolitan area.

I work tirelessly at my work (averaging 60-70 hours a week) and have been saving for over a year, but the time has come where i must move.
If you know me, you know that i hate asking for help, i hate letting my disability dictate my life, and I hate not working for what i am given, but this hurdle seems to be one I cannot handle on my own.

The funds you would be graciously giving would go to:
  • Movers (cannot drive it myself)
  • Flights (cannot drive there)
  • Costs to secure the apartment (deposit, fees, etc. That would give me a very small buffer to get established)

As stated above: I do not like handouts, so if you want a commission (pet, human, illustration) or a print, i am more than happy to do that for you!

Times are tough, but I cannot give up on this dream or let my disability control me, your support means more than i could ever convey.

*My disability is not technically considered a disability by the ADA or any state-oriented organization because of their very strict criterium for optical disorders. Optical disabilities are judged on “are you fully or partially blind? Or is your vision at or below 20/125?. This unfortunately means that i do not qualify for any assistance since my vision is 20/65. BUT my disorder still prevents me from driving, doing many jobs, and providing a ton of extra problems that make life extremely difficult. Not to mention the many other symptoms that come with Ocular Albinism that add further challenges to every day life. So while I am not disabled based on the criterium, anyone that meets me or sees what i deal with would consider me such.
