New Heart for Jackie

I want to keep this short and to the point.  One of my best friends and ZTA sorority Big Sister is having to undergo yet another open heart surgery.  This is to correct a heart condition that she was born with.  I have been told it was a miracle that she survived as a baby with this condition.  With two heart surgeries at 2 weeks old and 14 months old they were able to temporarily fix the condition and give her some relief.  As she got older, with some limitations, she seemed to be doing very well.  However, last year her doctor noticed dilated jugular veins and, upon having an echocardiogram, right heart failure was discovered.  She is now in need of a pulmonary valve replacement.  NO ONE in the Knoxville area is capable of doing this procedure and her out-of-network insurance expense is $7000. I know that sounds like a lot, but I am sure you can imagine how expensive an open heart surgery would be.  She will have to stay in Atlanta for a month, at least, for the surgery and post-operation check-up's.  She will not be able to drive and she will have cardiac rehab to follow.  With her stay in Atlanta and not being able to work, you can imagine the financial strain this will cause her and her parents who will be with her every step of the way.  Overall, they are estimating roughly $15,000 out of their own pockets to cover insurance expenses, recovery, care and stay in Atlanta.  With that being said, I am setting up this fundraiser in hopes of giving them some relief during this already stressful time.  Any amount you are willing to give will help greatly and I know they will appreciate it more than anyone could understand fully.  Thank you so much!
