Hola, mi nombre es Kai, tengo 25 años y desde hace varios años vivo con un dolor de espalda que se ha vuelto insoportable.
En 2018 fui operado por hernia L4-L5 con microdiscectomia endoscopica lumbar,pero la cirugía no resolvió mi problema y el dolor nunca desapareció. Hoy, después de múltiples estudios, mi situación es aún más grave:
Mis estudios más recientes muestran:
- EMG de miembros inferiores, confirmó daño nervioso moderado en la pierna izquierda y leve en la derecha.
- Anterolistesis de L5 sobre S1, grado 1 (Meyerding) → la vértebra se deslizó de su lugar.
- Protusión L5-S1 con compromiso radicular bilateral → comprime los nervios que bajan a las piernas.
- Abombamiento discal en L4-L5.
- Discopatía grado 5 (Pfirrmann modificado) en L5-S1 → el disco está completamente degenerado.
- Artropatía facetaria grado 1 (Weishaupt) en L5-S1 → desgaste en las articulaciones de la columna.
Esto me provoca:
- Dolor lumbar constante, que solo cede al acostarme.
- Entumecimiento y piquetes en glúteos y ambas piernas.
- Gran dificultad para estar de pie o sentado por mucho tiempo.
- Limitación en actividades simples como agacharme para amarrar mis agujetas.
El problema es que:
- Mi aseguradora ya no me quiere cubrir el tratamiento por exclusiones.
- En el IMSS me ofrecen atención hasta enero de 2026 y a partir de ahi no se cuanto tiempo para una cirugía, pero yo ya no puedo esperar: el dolor es diario y cada vez peor.
- El costo de esta cirugía en un hospital privado es de aprox. $300,000 MXN.
Gracias al apoyo de ustedes he podido cubrir los estudios complementarios que me solicitaron, como la electromiografía de ambos miembros y la TAC lumbar simple. Sin embargo, la cirugía sigue estando muy lejos de mis posibilidades económicas.
Por eso recurro a ti: cualquier donación, por mínima que sea, será un paso más cerca de mi operación y de poder recuperar una vida sin dolor. Todo lo recaudado lo utilizaré para cubrir los gastos que impliquen la cirugía.

Hello, my name is Kai, I’m 25 years old and for several years I have been living with unbearable back pain.
In 2018 I underwent surgery for an L4-L5 herniated disc with a lumbar endoscopic microdiscectomy, but unfortunately the surgery did not solve my problem and the pain never went away. Today, after multiple tests, my condition has become even more severe:
My most recent studies show:
- EMG of the lower limbs confirmed moderate nerve damage in the left leg and mild in the right leg.
- Anterolisthesis of L5 over S1, grade 1 → the vertebra slipped out of place.
- L5-S1 disc protrusion with bilateral nerve root compression → compression of the nerves that go down into my legs.
- Disc bulging at L4-L5.
- Disc disease grade 5 at L5-S1 → the disc is completely degenerated.
- Facet joint arthropathy grade 1 at L5-S1 → wear and tear of the spine joints.
This causes me:
- Constant lower back pain, only relieved when lying down.
- Numbness and stabbing sensations in my buttocks and both legs.
- Great difficulty standing or sitting for long periods.
The problem is that:
- My insurance will no longer cover the treatment.
- At the public hospital (IMSS) they offered me care starting in January 2026, but with no surgery date. But I simply cannot wait: the pain is constant and is getting worse.
- The cost of this surgery in a private hospital is approximately $300,000 MXN (around $15,000 USD).
Thanks to the support of others I have managed to pay for some complementary studies such as the nerve studies of both legs and the lumbar CT scan. However, the surgery itself is far beyond my financial reach.
That’s why I am reaching out to you: any donation, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to my surgery and to living without pain again. Everything raised will go directly to cover the costs related to the surgery.
