Nathan “Nate” McLaughin and his family

My name is Elijah. I created this Gofundme page to help raise money for my cousin Nathan “Nate” McLaughin and his family.

The following is his story:

My name is Nate. I am a husband and a father of three amazing children. My family and I are long time residents of Jamestown, PA and active members of the Reynolds School District Community. On the night of September 12th, 2022 I was called back into work. On my way in, I was in a catastrophic motorcycle accident. I sustained multiple injuries which required several extensive surgeries within my first few days at the hospital. My injuries included an open pelvic fracture, bruised lungs, lumbar and cervical fractures, an open fracture on my right radius, an open fracture on my left ulna, hemorrhagic shock, sacral fracture, and three broken toes. I have pins throughout my pelvic region, in my elbow and in my toes that will remain in place for 6 weeks. I am currently bedridden with minimal movement due to all the fractures but by the grace of God I am alive and I did not sustain any damage to my brain or spinal cord. While my body may be severely broken and damaged my spirit remains intact. As you can imagine this will be a massive physical recovery as well as a mental and psychological marathon for myself and my family. It all seems overwhelming. It’s a miracle I survived such a horrific accident and I know my road to recovery will be a long and arduous one. My doctors have told me I will be in the hospital for several weeks and then I will be in a rehabilitation center for at least 4-5 months to receive physical therapy for my injuries. This is my youngest son’s senior year and I will not be able to attend any of his football games or his senior night. I won’t be home for Thanksgiving or Christmas and I know all of that will be extremely difficult for my wife and kids. I want to be strong for them and fight as hard as I can to recover as quickly as my body will allow. My three children; Gage, Hayden and Gracie are my world and I just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary in August with my wife Rachelle. I live and breathe for all four of them.
