Derek has been diagnosed with Pure Red Cell Aplasia after many doctors and hospital visits. We have a long road ahead of us with him just starting chemo.  The start of this disease started in jan 2018. We had a small window of remission through fathers day this year
Weekly blood  transfusions to keep his body functioning. We have traveled to uva, mayo clinic, NIH.Here recently traveling back to uva weekly now to monitor new meds to help with remission on top of the already monthly visits for heart failure. This blood disease is not treatable just maintainable but the difficulty of treatment due to his congenital congestive heart failure
