Get My Children Out of Gaza

Help cover the last €9000 –
after a long process, my children and husband are on their way out of Gaza to me!

My name is Haneen. I am a 27-year-old mother of two, and I am from Gaza in Palestine, the world’s largest open-air prison. This crowdfunding campaign was set up one-and-a-half years ago to help bring me together with my husband Ahmed and two children, Hanan (7) and Zoher (5). I managed to get out of the inhumane conditions and frequent wars in Gaza to start a new life in Portugal 2 years ago. I had the intention and expectation that my family would be with me a few months after I’d arrived, but the legal process to bring my family to safety in Europe took much longer than I expected.

After many prayers, lots of support, and quite some paperwork and patience, I finally received the notice from the Portuguese authorities that I can be reunited with my children and my husband! I am hoping for them to arrive by January 31, 2021. Alhamdulillah! 

I am so grateful for all the help you’ve given me over the past two years. Thanks to your financial contributions through this crowdfunding, I could cover my living costs, pay medical expenses for the symptoms that surfaced when I arrived, send some money to my family in Gaza to help sustain them, and begin to get myself established. Some of you even supported in addition to this campaign when I needed extra funds to cover trauma therapy – thank you! 

Now it’s the final stretch of a very long process, and I am asking you for support one more time to cover the last €9000 of this campaign to set the foundations so my family can come smoothly out of Gaza and begin to settle in Portugal.

This money is meant to complete the original goal of this campaign. The last €9000 of this budget will cover:
- Border crossing & travel.
- Medical & legal registration.
- Housing & food (for 3 months).

My plans are that within a few months of my family being here that we will be able to sustain ourselves financially. I have been teaching Arabic and currently have 9 students, bringing in around €500/month. We plan that a few weeks after my husband Ahmed arrives that he will have the chance to begin working and providing for our family too.
