Hello everyone ,
To mark the end of a long and challenging journey to becoming a qualified nurse, James, (our lovely friends) and I are climbing Ben Nevis. The mountain reflects the uphill battle it’s taken to get here—five years, a baby, house moves, and many moments when walking away felt easier.
The next day, we’ll be cycling in the Tour de 4 at the Chris Hoy Velodrome in support of cancer research, a cause very close to my heart. I was deeply moved by Sir Chris Hoy’s diagnosis. He’s a national treasure and an inspiration to many. This challenge also honours the countless brave patients and colleagues I’ve met along the way, each facing their own battles with such courage and grace.
I’ve learned so much, and it’s been a privilege to be with people in their most vulnerable moments. If I can carry that strength and compassion forward in my career, I know I’ll be on the right track
If I could ask for even a small donation, we’d be incredibly grateful. Our target is £200. Cancer will affect 1 in 2 of us, which is a sobering thought, but thanks to research and amazing clinical care, survival rates are improving. That progress relies ongoing support.
Thank you so much for reading and for any donation, big or small.
Much Love Sophie and James Grant
