Museum of Columbia River Area History

Mission Statement

To promote and preserve the cultures and communities of our area's past and present.

CPCHS recognizes the contributions of the indigenous peoples, explorers, pioneers, and others who settled this beautiful part of Oregon with occupations including hunting, fishing, logging, farming, dairying, lumbering, and nursery cultivation and gardening.

The Crown Point Country Historical Society was established in 1970. Over several decades, residents of the area have been collecting records and artifacts, filing information and images - including the paintings of Charles W. Post - and researching family, business, and cultural connections.

SUPPORT AND DONATIONS NEEDED

The CPCHS museum is located in Corbett, Oregon. Because we are in the Scenic Columbia Gorge there are limitations on space, design, and height of our structure. Because we live in this most beautiful area - surrounded by the trees, rivers, and mountains of three state parks and eight scenic recreation areas- there is no industry. There are few residents and businesses to support the project. Through donations and fundraisers, and our recent inclusion into the OHS Levy Museum Fund, we have been able to begin Phase I of the building construction. Your donations will support Phase II, completing the interior of the building, landscaping, parking lot, and outside displays.
