My name is Jalon Ekholm and I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2010, but began having
symptoms in 2006. I went from being a completely healthy 32 year old
woman to barely being able to get out of bed in the morning. Half of my
face went numb (as well as my hands and feet), I stumbled into walls
when I walked, I saw everything double, I slurred my words when I
talked, I had difficulty swallowing food, a bizarre buzzed feeling began
inside of my head, my right hand began having tremors and I eventually
lost most of my ability to write, amongst other things. Honestly, I
thought that I had had a stroke! I went to the doctor and they took a
few different MRI's and in 2010, they found that I had roughly 6 lesions
on my brain and diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis... I was
devastated.
My diagnosis marked a turning point in my life. I now had a chronic illness that, if not managed properly, could result in severe debilitation and/or death. I made a decision that I was not about to allow anything to put limits on me - not even a chronic illness! So, I began taking a very active role in my health.
I changed my diet, added daily exercise, began taking numerous vitamin supplements and I began a life changing journey through PSI Strategies for Life Success. My time at PSI Seminars pushed me to achieve things that I hadn't considered doing in years "“ like climbing and standing on top of a 40ft telephone pole, amongst many other things.
I have learned what it is like to be strong, confident and courageous again. I will not be a victim: instead; I intend to be an inspiration. I want others to look at me and say, "Because of you, I didn't give up today!"
I intend to participate in WLS (PSI Women's Leadership Seminar) in November. I am kindly requesting support to help me reach my goal. I appreciate each and every contribution that is donated.
