Mrs. Karen Fund
Donation protected
Mrs. Karen was an aide in the Eastern Local Schools to support students with disability in their K-12 educational journey. She served the schools for 28 years and took pride in the school as an alum herself. Mrs. Karen passed on from this earth on Feb. 18, 2024 from pancreatic cancer.
Her husband Rex, and sons Daniel & Adam, were inspired to create this fund in her memorial by a statement she often made - "If you can't bring me flowers when I'm alive, then don't bring them to me when I'm gone." We have asked that folks not purchase and send flowers for her funeral, and instead contribute to this fund in her memory.
She was a person of purpose, intentionality, and a willingness to give to others whatever they needed if she had it to give. We believe this fund will honor her work and life through the schools and with children who have the greatest need. It was not uncommon for her to pull from her own personal funds to support the children that she journeyed with through school. Since her passing, the family has heard from many that Mrs. Karen made them feel like they were her own children.
All proceeds from this fund will be specifically directed to Eastern Local Schools and will only be used to provide resources, equipment, or support to students with disability or otherwise special needs to support them in their education experience.
