Paying Forward for Mark

 Mr. Mark Seymour was a larger than life figure to the community of Wildomar.  He was a teacher at Wildomar Elementary for 31 years where he gave his all to teach the youth of this community.  Ever the prankster, Mark combined his knowledge of teaching with humor and practical jokes and remained a heavily requested teacher. 

Mr. Seymour was also very busy in life helping others.  As the staff of Wildomar Elementary have grieved his loss, so many have recounted stories of the many ‘good deeds’ Mark did for them.  Here are just a few:

 ·         The time it was pouring out while I did crossing guard and he had one of his students run out front to give me his jacket.

·         The trust and confidence he had in me to help his students.

·         The non-stop lectures he would give me about going back to school to become a teacher

·         I will never forget the time he loaned me his big work truck and trailer without a second thought.  He basically said that he did not see his possessions as belonging to him, they were on loan from God. 

·         He helped my daughter Ruby when she needed emotional support a few years ago, he made sure she was happy at school, and would constantly check up on her and make her laugh, Ruby appreciated him that every time we went to the store, she would grab an Almond Joy full-size bar for him, because those were his favorite.

·         I met Mr. Seymour in 1991. I was in his 5th grade class. I always remember him reading funny little personal stories from 3x5 cards he kept on his desk. The whole class looked forward to those silly stories, most of them about times he pranked his friends in college.

·         Mark would call me and ask if he could come build a raised garden for my elderly parents to keep active with.

·         Mark worked harder than anyone I have ever known keeping math records of where each student was in meeting standards. 

·         Mark was the reason I went back to school to get my Master’s degree 20 years ago because he kept opening the door between our classrooms (at least twice a week) just to specifically say, “Do you hear that? It’s the sound of money flying out the door!”

·         Mark helped my mom when she fell outside our house and took care of her until I got home

 Mr. Mark Seymour’s passing has left a void in many people’s lives and it have left some unfinished business, both at school and at home.  Thje purpose of this Go Fund Me is to ‘Pay Back’ some of his kinds deeds by supporting the family with some of the needs that exist at home.  To get some things done that Mark didn’t get to because he was busy helping others.
