Mr Ed survives 2 gunshots & needs surgery

Hello everyone.  My name is Carie Ortman and I'm fundraising for one of my mini horses. On Sunday, January 14th,  2024, someone shot two of my mini horses. One, unfortunately did not survive.  The second, Mr Ed, was actually shot twice and is still alive. While one shot went thru his neck and damaged soft tissue, the second went thru his jaw. He had x-rays taken and his jaw bone has been shattered. He will go thru surgery this week to remove bone fragments from his jaw but then will need to go to Blacksburg, VA to possibly have a plate installed.  His vet has said he is nothing short of a miracle but has a long recovery ahead of him.  I am asking for help to pay for his medical expenses, which will rise quickly during his recovery. The West Virginia State Police are involved and are investigating but my main concern at the moment is his health and welfare. I would greatly appreciate any help that can be given.
