Molly Breast Cancer Support Fund

Hi Friends and Family,

My name is Shanis Nelson, I have been a friend to Molly for many years. Please read below for information on this GoFundMe.

I am leaving the original message at the bottom from when we started this GoFundMe, but I have just posted an update. My techie skills are subpar, so I don't want this to be confusing! Molly has been going through her journey (to put it kindly) with breast cancer for almost 2 years now. It has not been a walk in the park. When this started out we thought it was going to be about a year with all the treatments and surgery. At least, that is my understanding. Molly, Michael and Carrigan, are in need of some more assistance and greatly appreciate any help. Please see the latest update. Thank you in advance.

Molly has been diagnosed with stage 2/3 breast cancer and has a long road of recovery in front of her. On October 19th she will have her port put in and then her Chemo starts on the 21st. Molly starts with 12 weeks of initial Chemo therapy and then moves on to an additional 8 weeks of another Chemo which she is told is brutal but let's all think positive thoughts. After the 5 months of Chemo, Molly will undergo a double mastectomy and then move on to radiation. Deep breathe! This is a lot for our dear Molly (and Michael and Carrigan) to walk thru but with the love and support of family and friends she and her family will walk a bit lighter knowing they are not alone.

Molly has been on unemployment which will run out in just a few weeks. Molly and family are going to have a lot of expenses coming up and times are certainly challenging on so many levels. If you are not in a position to help financially there are many other ways to help. Preparing meals, leaving supportive comments, giving rides, child care and running errands to name a few. Please only give if you can. 

Some of the expenses that this GoFundMe will support are the following;

Household Expenses

Gas & Bridge Tolls- Sonoma to UCSF for 8 months

Meals/Groceries

Wigs & Scarves

And let's not forget some pampering for our patient.

Asking for help is not easy and Molly had a hard time agreeing to this GoFundMe but the bottom line is that they really need the help and I know there are a lot of people who want to help.
