Mohamed’s Accident & Aftercare
Donation protected
Mo was involved in a life changing accident this Sunday 9/8/2019 on the NJ Turnpike. While we do not have any specific news yet on how the accident occurred, we do know that he was not stunting and was alone, a state trooper found him and he was airlifted to the trauma hospital to undergo life saving procedures.
Mohamed has extensive injuries to the right side of his arm, shoulder and collarbone but the most severe is the amputation of his right leg to save his life. The amputation is high above the knee which will require intensive therapy and treatment from an experienced team so we can get Mo back up and walking. He may also need other surgeries and procedures in the future.
As you can imagine, he will need physical and emotional support as he begins this new chapter. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and hope he makes a speedy recovery without unnecessary financial stress.
Financial Needs
New Jersey has provided charity to cover Mohamed’s hospital stay and provides inpatient assistance since he does not have insurance. It does not cover the helicopter airlift to the trauma unit and any costs once he leaves the hospital and returns to NY.
Unfortunately he also does not qualify for emergency Medicaid. We are looking into other options and foundations to help ease the cost wherever we can.
All funds raised will go directly to his continuing care, aftercare, therapy, prosthetics, equipment and to get him situated.
Thank You
We want to thank all of you for the outpouring of support, your visits, calls, texts, and well wishes. He can’t get through this alone and we are so glad he has all of you in his life.
