For those of you who don't know Heather, she is a 48 year old single mom to a beautiful son, Charlie.
Heather was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will need to undergo a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
Heather recently finished her Bachelors degree at Bridgewater State college, a lifetime goal that has taken years to accomplish. She did this all while having a job, being a full time student, homeowner, and full time single mom.
With more strength, determination and overwhelming obstacles than anyone can imagine she did this all by herself. She is fiercely independent and has never relied on anybody but herself and has no other means of financial support.
Heather will be out of work for an extended period of time. The long term plan will not by known until pending pathology results post surgery.
Heather has always been there for her friends and family to lend a hand, now it's time to be there for her. For the upcoming months she will still need to pay for her mortgage, car payments, household bills, student loans and child care expenses while she recovers.
She needs to focus on getting well, not whether or not she will lose her and Charlie's home, the house she grew up in, purchased and rehabbed after her father's death many years ago.
I have been friends with Heather for almost 25 years and she is like my right arm. She is going to be VERY upset with me for starting this and I'm not likely to live once I send this out! For those of you who DO know Heather you know what I'm talking about ;)
She means that much to me that I'm willing to risk my life for her and Charlie. Please do what you can to help this beautiful girl and her precious Charlie, she would never ask herself.
