Hey everyone,

We are fundraising on behalf of Alex Lokstein-Gironda who is a close friend and colleague of ours. Alex was recently diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the age of 30 years old in August 2025, and has a long road ahead of her with upcoming surgery and chemo treatments.

Alex has been a paramedic with the Region of Durham for 2 and a half years, as well as working for ORNGE. Alex will be off work during this time but will still be responsible for her own bills and life expenses. We kindly ask that you contribute any amount so she is able to worry a little less about the financial burden and focus on getting back to the things she loves like powerlifting competitions, travelling and helping others.

After receiving her diagnosis, Alex had to relocate to a new place to be closer to her treatments that she will be receiving at Sunnybrook hospital. Alex also wanted to be closer to her loved ones, family, and support system during this difficult and life-changing time.

Alex would also like to donate a portion of these contributions to breast cancer research.
