My name is Mai Richards, and on May 1-25, 2026, I will begin a 400+ mile run across South Dakota in honor of the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. I will also carry the United States flag for the entirety of the miles as a visible symbol of remembrance and respect.
This Memorial Day initiative is called Miles of Honor. It is a multi-day endurance run from Sioux Falls to Sturgis, passing through communities and American Legion posts along the way. Each mile represents remembrance, sacrifice, and gratitude.
Although this fundraiser is listed under “Self,” 100% of net proceeds will be transferred directly to veteran and military-support organizations associated with this mission. Funds will not be used for personal income.
You can access the Financial Transparency & Fiscal Sponsorship for 2026 Miles of Honor here.
Donations will help:
• Support veteran organizations
• Honor fallen service members and their families
• Expand the reach and impact of this annual Memorial Day initiative
Upon completion of the campaign, documentation of all transfers, including receipts and confirmation letters from recipient organizations, will be publicly shared here for full transparency and accountability.
If you feel called to support, I invite you to stand with us.
