Mike Sharkey Medical Relief

Donation protected
On Wednesday, May 27th at 5 am, Mike Sharkey was involved in a car crash resulting in a rollover crash on the corner of Rock and Longley. Mike's Jeep subsequently burst into flames leaving him trapped inside.
Thankfully, Deputy Nick Ediss from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office pulled Mike out of his Jeep, saving his life. Deputy Ediss and Deputy Scott Butler provided first aid on scene until REMSA arrived.
Mike underwent a 7 hour surgery that same day to repair his neck, his broken foot, and a large laceration on his head. A second surgery has been scheduled to attend to his crushed C-5 vertebrae. Mike will have a long recovery and may have to undergo rehabilitation and copious amounts of physical therapy.

Due to COVID-19, his wife Ingrid and daughter, Amanda, are not allowed to be with him at the hospital at this time. Although Mike may be physically alone, we as a community can do our part. Ingrid has lost her job from the pandemic and this accident will greatly affect this wonderful family.

I understand this is a terrible time in our personal lives and for our economy. Anything and everything helps in this time of uncertainty and worry for the Sharkey family.
Thank you so much for your donation. If you are unable to donate, please take the time and share to others.
