Mike Myers Motorcycle Accident Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday August 26, 2018 , our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Mike Myers, was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident. The accident took place on Route 741 Strausburg Road in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania while heading to Sunday brunch with a few of his riding buddies.
We are very grateful and blessed that he is still alive. In spite of his severe pain he remains in good spirits. We are in for quite a journey. As a result of the accident Mike suffered a dislocated right knee in conjunction with tears in his ACL, MCL as well other torn ligaments and tendons. After a successful surgery his knee was made stable but will need reconstruction down the road. His pelvis was also dislocated and will require surgery to be adequately aligned. This will require Mike to be stationary for no less than 10 weeks.
The most concerning damage is his spinal chord injury that cannot be surgically mitigated. His spine is bruised with 2 fractures in the C5 and C6 vertebrae. There is severe swelling that can only be aided with medication and we await a positive but unknown outcome.
All of his injuries will require a minimum one year rehabilitation in a facility. He will not be able to work at all during this time.
Most of you know Mike to be a energetic, spirit-filled, fun loving, full of life kind of guy. He is the 'jack of all trades', with gifted hands willing and always ready to help anyone in need. His light has been dimmed a bit. We are reaching out to those who love him most and those his love has touched. His road to recovery will be a long and tenuous one. If you are able, please join us in helping Mike achieve the successful recovery he wholeheartedly deserves.
Thanking you in advance for your love, prayers and continued support
