Memphis' Rainbow Crosswalks
Donation protected
Hello Memphis!
Last year in October, Memphis made state history by installing the state's first rainbow crosswalk in Cooper-Young! This crosswalk was installed using donations from individuals and organizations that stand for equality and inclusiveness. Installed by volunteers in the early hours of a very cold Saturday morning, we showed the state that Memphis can come together and embrace diversity and love. But now, it's time to install the longer lasting, more durable resin so that it will stay vibrant and proud for years to come with little to no maintenance! Here's how you can help below:
This is a $3000 project, and so far, we have raised $917 via Facebook Fundraisers. So we have $2083 dollars to go. Any additional funding will be kept in an account for maintenance and repairs if needed. You can donate any amount of money to help, however, we are offering a "memorial" style donation this time.
For a $500 donation, an entire stripe of color will be dedicated/in memorial of someone of the donor's choice. A plaque will be mounted next to the crosswalk with the names of those who each color pays memorial to and who purchased the memorial stripe. There are 7 colors available only while they last, so act fast!
Can we count on you to help raise money and make state history as we turn this entire intersection into a permeant showcase of love and equality?
Cost Breakdown:
Resin (5 Gal Buckets, 7 Colors) - $1,823.00
Brushes / Install Tools / Permits - $412.00
Freight To Deliver Paint from Supplier - $315
Company Rep Labor / Install Oversight - $450.00
