Joseph John Prebeg passed away on March 15, 2024.

As we all know, Joe had a gift for making people happy and gaining friends wherever he went. From North and South Carolina to Illinois, the UK and beyond. We are so very grateful for all the messages of love and support we have received from Joe's friends.

Many have asked what we can do to honor Joe, thus we have embarked on this fundraising campaign for a memorial to be placed in his honor in Edgartown, Massachusetts on Martha's Vineyard.

Joe's 25 plus years spent on the island were some of his happiest times. He was often seen walking down Main Street to his job behind the bar at David Ryan's with a backpack of CD's and a pocketful of PEZ dispensers. His smile was contagious, his laugh hearty and his love for people endless.

Through the Edgartown Beautification Committee, we would like to install a lamppost plaque in Joe's honor.

The cost of this plaque is $3,200. Below is a sample photo of the plaque. We have reserved a spot near Memorial Wharf, one of Joe's favorite spots overlooking Edgartown Harbor.

Once the fundraising goal for the plaque has been met, we will donate any extra monies to Hospice & Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard.
