We need your help…Megan needs a Bed
Twenty-five years ago, Megan at 17, was in a horrible car accident that has left her with a severe brain injury. She is unable to functionally do anything for herself and is primarily confined to a bed. She is aware of her soundings and can feel pain, making pressures sores torture for her. In 2006 we found a wonderful company that manufactures a miraculous bed. It is called the Freedom Bed by ProBed New York State Medicaid would not pay for the bed, so it took us two years of holding fundraisers to raise the amount of money it cost to purchase this bed and in 2008 we were able to get it for Megan. It has been a life saver. Megan has had very few sores and the ones that have developed have healed in days. This is very unusual for someone in her condition, and I believe it is because of the bed. The other benefit is that I found I could sleep most nights knowing that Megan was being rotated every hour by this computerized bed. Improving her circulation and relieving pressure on her body. You can read more about the bed at https://www.pro-bed.com
The Freedom bed is specifically designed to decrease the incidences of bedsores, improve circulation, as well as help care givers work with those unable to move on their own. The bed has a programable computer to rotate Megan to the degrees necessary to keep her well with increased circulation and pressure relief.
Megan is now suffering from a sore around her Coccyx bone that is not healing, and her bed is not working the way it should. It is unfortunately showing its age on its last legs. I recently spoke with the company, and they said that they have made improvements to the bed that help with the type of pressure sores Megan is experiencing. I believe now is the time to purchase a new one. With my increasing health issues, the type of fundraising we have done in the past is not feasible, so we are utilizing “Go Fund Me”. Please share this information with as many as possible to consider a small donation so that we can get Megan the bed she deserves to keep her healthy and comfortable.
Thank you and God Bless
