Medical Expenses for the Peterson Family

Our world was rocked on Tuesday, May 30 when Tim suffered a brain aneurysm in the dugout during our kickball game. The team acted very quickly, and Tim was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, where it was confirmed and then transferred to United Hospital in St. Paul for emergency surgery. Tim will remain at United in the Neuro ICU unit during his 3 week recovery. If you know Tim, you know that he is full of life and wonderful energy and it is going to be a battle for him to take this time to slow down and heal. We are confident that he is great hands at United as they are leading providers of Neurological care in the Twin Cities and Upper Midwest. We will be forever grateful that Tim was surrounded by family and friends while this happened so that he could be cared for in an expedited manner.

We are creating this GoFundMe campaign to provide a way for family and friends to help with expenses related to Tim’s three-week hospital stay in intensive care and home recovery that will keep him out of work for six to seven months as he heals and moves into a new normal. Beyond this time frame, Tim will have ongoing recovery at home that will involve physical therapy, speech therapy, home modifications and anything else that he may need to keep his quality of life. In addition to what insurance will cover, the family has been advised to expect significant outside costs related to all of the above.

Those who know Tim, know that he would hate to ask for this kind of help but we know that he would do whatever he could for each and every one of us. We are also very grateful for all of the love, prayers and support expressed by so many over the last few days. Your words of encouragement and acts of kindness are appreciated beyond measure.
