Christopher’s medical bills.
Donation protected
On what is typically the most joyous night of the year, Halloween, a red light runner caused Christopher to take a spill on his motorcycle. What initially seemed to be some minor scrapes and bruises has turned out to be more substantial than initially thought; most notably a broken collarbone and torn muscles along the spinal cord.
Needless to say, this has put him out of work for an indefinite period of time and with no physical ability to earn any income. Insurance won’t help because the other driver fled. Unemployment is not an option. Disability is not an option. The government isn’t in the business of helping its people (maybe we should start a war?).
So now we are faced with surmounting medical bills and a long healing process (made even longer due to type 1 diabetes). And never mind motorcycle repair bills.
As gauche as it feels, and with a heavy gulping of pride, we are forced to turn to our community for any measly assistance that can be offered. Every tiny bit is beyond generous and we are eternally grateful.
With peace and love to all,
