We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a desperate plea for help. My husband, Gherson (Jason) Huayas, is a talented and dedicated jockey, who recently suffered a catastrophic accident while doing what he loves most. During the start of the race he was dismounted by the horse, resulting in the horse inadvertently landing on his leg resulting in a tibia and fibula fracture.
As you can imagine, this unexpected incident has had a profound impact on our lives. Not only is Gherson in excruciating pain, but his injury also requires immediate medical attention, including surgery, to ensure he can walk again without complications. Unfortunately, the medical expenses associated with this procedure are substantial, and we are struggling to bear this financial burden alone.
We are humbly reaching out to our community, friends, and all those who have witnessed Gherson's dedication to his craft, in the hopes of raising funds to cover the costs of the surgery, hospitalization, and subsequent rehabilitation. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to give Gherson the best chance at a full recovery and a return to the sport he loves.
