Hi, my son Micheal was recently the victim of an assault in Carolina Beach. He was walking alone when he was attacked. After needing to call 911 for himself he was found to have suffered from two breaks in his jaw, three fractures to his ribs and a major concussion as well as trauma to his spinal cord and ear drum.

My son has had to undergo reconstructive surgery that has resulted in his jaw being wired shut for 6-8 weeks. This will likely result in Micheal going through dental work and further procedures as well.

As many people in North Carolina know Micheal and his wife are local small business owners. Micheal and Shannon started their company, Bluegrass Outdoors, LLC, last July together. Micheal is the backbone of the business, with his hands on quality focused approach. The timing of the assault has meant that their financial situation is now uncertain and has suffered greatly.

His wife Shannon has also had to take time off from her full-time job at SunFun Rentals to care for him and herself while they try to recover from the assault.

This event has put strain on their financial and emotional health with medical bills being a large strain on them both.

We are waiting for the investigation to bring justice to my son and our family. We have no expectations for meeting the amount raised but any support would help get their beginning family business back on its feet again in the community.
