Max's Mission To save lives in Southern Oregon through distribution of Naloxone, a medication that reverses an opiate overdose.
So many families throughout this country and our own community here in the Rogue Valley have been effected by the opioid epidemic. Family, friends, relatives, neighbors and partners, lives have been turned upside down, Perhaps you have been affected directly or indirectly.
Our own son Max died from an opioid overdose almost 4 years ago. Within a few months of his death three other young men in this area lost their lives the same way. As parents we want to spare others this terrible loss. We have launched this campaign to do that, by spreading awareness of a life-saving medication, Naloxone and by giving free Naloxone kits to people in need.
Our goal is to use the money raised to increase awareness of naloxone and get it in to the hands of people who need it. We have been working closely with other local organizations under the guidance of Jackson County Medical Director Dr. Jim Shames. Your contribution will help us set up a non profit that qualifies for donations from pharmaceutical companies that make naloxone, as well as allowing us to begin reaching out from Ashland to Cave Junction.to train and distribute this life saving drug.
In communities where naloxone is widely available deaths from opiate overdoses have dropped significantly. Will you consider helping us to make that happen here? The holidays are a difficult time of year for many and we cannot get naloxone out to enough people without your help, with it we can prevent needless deaths.
