Help Mask-Match.com cover operational costs

Donation protected

LATEST UPDATE:
i. We've been vetting millions of mask donations — some larger bulk shipments we've directed to orgs like getusppe.org who are handling getting larger donations to hospitals.

ii. Over 57,529 of N95 and surgical masks matched.

iii. As of writing we've confirmed shipment of over 30,000 masks to healthcare workers at over 1,738 hospitals and clinics across — many are mid-sized or smaller and do not have the resources or means to hold donation drives or source masks right now.

iv. 251 amazingly passionate volunteers — please give them a shout out!!! They're working really hard and would be stoked to be "Person of the Week"

WHAT IS MASK MATCH?

Mask-Match  is a peer-to-peer matching service that matches people at home who have spare N95 masks with frontline healthcare workers who desperately need them now.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Mask-Match has exploded, we have over 974 Donors have signed up to ship 1,235,649 masks and 2,328 front line healthcare workers have signed up who need masks, and this is all run by 63 volunteers who also have full time jobs.

We're looking for financial support to help cover the costs of incorporating a 501(c)3 so we can accept financial donations to purchase masks, and to cover all associated technology and hosting fees.  The Admins have been funding all operations  out of pocket to date. Any surplus funds will be used to donate to the COVID-19 Fundraiser for WHO with $10 Million Match.

WHY WE STARTED THIS

Liz Klinger’s mom is a lifelong nurse with decades of experience in Neurosurgery, Oncology, Medical Surgery, Telemetry and Rehabilitation, and more. Her mom is also at a higher risk for a severe case of COVID-19. When Klinger found out that her mom was working on the floor and the management was unable to provide masks and PPE to their staff, she was panicked. “I don’t want my mom to die. Plus, some of her co-workers are single parents or over 65+ ... the situation is truly frightening out there.”

She learned that her mom’s floor was one of thousands across the United States that were running low or were completely out of protection — or the hospitals were saving their stock for the anticipated peak. Some, including the hospital that Klinger’s mother worked at, were locking up masks and actively discouraging their use because of the shortage and fears that they would be stolen. Some hospitals may also not accept masks from the public due to liability concerns. This is why Mask-Match is trying to provide masks directly to the healthcare workers on the front
lines through peer-to-peer matching.

HOW IT WORKS

People in the United States have masks — especially people who experienced the California wildfires in recent years — and can get linked up with a healthcare worker near them who needs the masks sent to them ASAP.

If you are a healthcare worker, fill out the “I need masks” form so we know who you are and where we need to send your masks.

If you have masks, fill out the “I have masks” form, and we’ll email you with a healthcare worker match so you can ship your masks directly to them.

Mask-Match will make sure to verify the identities of the healthcare workers before making any matches. These masks are not for purchase or for sale. Those who are matched with a healthcare worker are expected to cover the cost of shipping & handling.
