Hello Friends and Kind Supporters
My name is Kate, and I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my amazing brother Mark Adamczyk and his wonderful family.
As some of you may already know Mark was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer at the age of 38. The news has left us all absolutely heartbroken that someone as fit, strong and amazing as Mark could have this....but we know cancer doesn't discriminate.
People keep asking us how they can help so I've created this page so loved ones and compassionate strangers alike can provide financial support to help Mark and his family through this really challenging time.
Mark and Joanna are the proud parents to three wonderful children, Pixie (13), Violet (10) and Joey (3), who they absolutely adore and their Super Dad having cancer has hit them all hard.
Throughout his life Mark has faced every challenge head on with a positive mental attitude and cancer is no different....... but it's tough.
He has just completed the most intensive, gruelling rounds of 6 Chemo sessions every 2 weeks, the doctor told him this is the highest dose he has ever given anyone!
It's been really hard and he's fought through it all with grace, humility and strength, and for now can have a break from treatment and enjoy Christmas. But the journey isn't over, in January he will start radiotherapy and then face surgery to remove all of the cancer.
As well as the love and strength of his wonderful family and friends, one of the things that has really helped him was a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber (HBOT).
This involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurised chamber, significantly increasing oxygen in the blood to combat tumour hypoxia (low oxygen), which makes cancers resistant to treatment. It's a complementary therapy to boost radiation and chemotherapy effectiveness, sensitise tumours to treatment, heal radiation damage and reduce inflammation, with studies showing it can inhibit tumour growth and metastasis.
The other thing that will help Mark is Red Light Therapy which shows promise in cancer care, primarily as part of Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), where it activates light-sensitive drugs to kill cancer cells and reduce side effects like radiation burns. Studies show potential for inhibiting tumour growth, increasing immune response and promoting healing.
Marks brilliant friends clubbed together and paid for him to have the oxygen chamber at home for a month, but we would love for him to keep it throughout his treatment journey of about 4 months.
If we can raise the money to pay for the oxygen chamber and red light therapy machine, we will convert his garage into Mark's healing room.
Mark and Joanna are the most humble people and never ask for any help, so we're doing it for them.
Please give as much as you can, as every penny will count.
Thanks so much in advance!
