Yesterday was one of the worst days of a parent's life, when my 10yr old son Mario, was kidnapped in our only vehicle. My son Mario, suffers from spina bifida and is wheelchair bound; had no way of trying to escape. Mario, myself and an acquaintance were going to a store when I just stepped out of the car to grab my wallet from inside my home, and just before I could get into the door, she jumped in the driver seat and fled with my son in the backseat. While he was fearing for his life as she drove away erratically, I hysterically awaited with detectives to track her and get my son back. I have never felt such a helpless feeling which says a lot considering the multiple medical conditions my son has suffered from including multiple surgeries in his short life.
He has doctor appointments often and is constantly back and forth from procedures. I am incredibly grateful to the Detectives and Police force that worked until they found my son after he was abandoned at a trailer park with all the windows rolled up, (thankfully with the car running), he cried and screamed for someone to help him. I owe so much to the man that heard Mario screaming for help and allowed him to use his phone which he called me with frantically to tell me he was left in the car but was ok. My heart sunk to hear his voice, it was the most bittersweet feeling because I was thankful he was alive yet heartbroken for what he had just gone through. I pray that he can overcome this trauma. He said she was driving crazy and ended up blowing a tire, possibly driving on the rim and now totaling our car as the insurance will not cover the repair expenses. Now not only, do we have to move on from such a tormenting situation, but in addition we now no longer have a vehicle to take him to and from his appointments, school, etc. Anything at all helps and is greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. We thank you all in advance for your support and prayers to get us through this hard time.
