Luna needs a new knee!
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Zahra, but this story isn't about me. It's about my friend and sled dog enthusiast, Nalene Schermers and her Siberian Husky, Luna. Recently during a dog park visit, Luna started limping, and her walking became more and more labored. Nalene realised she needed to be carried to the car and whisked her to a vet. The vet has determined that she is injured and needs surgery to repair the ligament that connects to her knee, also known as a TPLO full rupture.
Tearing the cruciate ligament is very painful, and debilitating. Without this surgery, she won't be able to walk normally. If you know Luna, you know she is a sled dog in training, loves her beach walks, and dog park visits -- how all Siberians love to be in the world. She's the sweetest, most beautiful princess like creature.
Nalene and her small family have already suffered through a lot this year after a car accident, broken ankle, dislocated knee, and Luna having a UTI.
I want to help support her and get this surgery happening so Luna is back on her feet again. I've reached out for friends this way before, and Nalene is an important part of our sport in Australia. So let's help a fellow dog lover when she's been knocked down.
Any and all money that is raised will go to the cost of Luna's surgery and recovery. It's hard to ask for help, and even harder to ask for donations. So that's why I'll do it for them, and know she will be so grateful for any amount that you're able to give <3
